Product Features

During testing under an actual applied 250-microsecond waveform, the measured early streamer emission time of the lightning rod was 23.2 microseconds. According to the method provided by the French standard NF C 17102, the converted early streamer emission time under a 650-microsecond waveform is 78 microseconds. When calculating the protection range, the French standard NF C 17102 caps the early streamer emission time at 60 microseconds under a 650-microsecond waveform. The early streamer emission time of this ESE rod already exceeds 60 microseconds.

Protection Radius (Rp) Calculation Formula

According to the French NFC17-102 standard, the tip of the lightning rod should be at least 2m above the horizontal plane (roof) of the protected object. The protection radius is determined by three factors (mounting height h, building protection category, and lightning rod model). When the mounting height h ≥ 5m, the protection radius can be calculated using the following formula:

R p --- Horizontal protection radius on the protected roof (m)
h --- Height from the protected roof to the tip of the lightning rod (m)
D --- Striking distance (rolling sphere radius) (m)
ΔL --- Upward early streamer distance of the ESE (m), ΔL = ΔV × ΔT

ΔV --- Leader propagation speed coefficient (m/μs), determined from test data as ΔV = 1 m/μs

Tested by National High-Voltage Laboratory

The product has undergone rigorous testing with the 3000kV impulse voltage generator at the Shanghai Jiao Tong University High-Voltage Laboratory, a national-level facility.
This complete set of equipment can generate standard 1.2/50μs lightning waves and 250/2500μs switching surges. It features constant current charging and an automatic control operating system, equipped with a HAEFELY measuring divider and TEK's 300MHz–1GHz digital oscilloscope.

The Metal Stimulation Point Emission Equipment (MSPEE) (inside the Advanced Triggering Device) is insulated from the Lightning Wave Guide Pole (LGP). The Air Terminal (CLR), Lightning Wave Buffer Device (LBD), Lightning Wave Guide Pole (LGP), High Current Surge Rectifier (HCS), and Corona Discharge Connector (CDC) are well electrically connected to the ground.

The sealed Advanced Triggering Device (ADT) is cast from special metal material, suitable for various corrosive environments. The built-in Metal Stimulation Point Emission Equipment (MSPEE), together with the Air Intake Passage (ADIP) and Air Stimulation Device Passage (ASDP), forms the Air Stimulation Device (ASD).

Product Installation

Lightning rod net weight: 4.5 ~ 5.3 kg; Corona Discharge Connector (CDC) interface specification: M27*1.5

Use Φ25 galvanized steel pipe or stainless steel pipe (wall thickness ≥2mm) with male thread at the CDC connection. The connection rod uses Φ25 ~ Φ120 tapered galvanized steel pipe or stainless steel pipe (larger at the top, smaller at the bottom). Connections between various specification rods (depending on the support height, 2 to 6 sections can be selected) use welding or threaded对接 methods,同时进行防锈处理. The bottom connection rod is welded to the fixing plate and treated for rust prevention. Fixing plate specification: 400 × 400mm, tightly fixed with concrete预埋 exposed threaded rods. Connection points are treated for rust prevention.
